Summary: The book opens up with this small fish who claims he stole the hat he is wearing. The hat's owner is asleep but awakens to find out someone has stolen his hat and he is on the trail. The small fish thinks the hat's owner will not find him in the plants that grow big and tall. But the hat's owner finds him and gets his hat back.
Visual element - Shape: This Is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen uses shape to demonstrate action; the main characters are shown with shapes and color. This brings the ocean to life and the movement of the characters.
