Summary: Adorable book that has a mouse, jackass, and monkey in it.  Book starts with the monkey really into his book along comes the jackass asking, "What do you have there?"  Throughout the book the monkey reiterates that he is reading a book and the jackass asking annoying questions such as, "How do you scroll down?"

Visual element - Line: It's a Book by Lane Smith shows the use of line to convey movement.  It's simple yet engaging throughout the book.

Style: Style allows to recognize and distinguish authors and illustrators through their different works.  In the story It's a Book by Lane Smith, the reader can identify the author who has become one of children's favorites.
